Mike's Journal
DAY 21
DATE: Saturday, September 11, 2012
TIME: 4:44pm
A. OPENING THOUGHTS/OBSERVATIONS:
Been feeling more at peace. Have also been reaching out to friends and using the Question Circle to make new friends online as well as deepen communication with current friends. The Question Circle is an interaction with others online using the same game I will use today. Seems apropos that I’m using this tool at a time when it’s my assignment for the next four days. Not working out today, taking the day off, but will be doing the emotional exercises today. I can honestly say that I’ve never been more committed to my workouts and taking a day off is now more difficult to do than actually psyching myself up to work out.
My spiritual life and A Course In Miracles work is helping me go deeper with where my sense of happiness lies. I realize that the further I travel in this Quest the more I want to make all of this my livelihood and career. Been having visions of doing group training using this material and coaching others to physical and emotional health. This is the truth I need to explore in the next four days as I ask deeper questions.
B. DREAM ENTRY:
Nothing really monumental or surprising in my dreams. Took a nap this afternoon and had a wonderful experience with lucid dreaming. Everything I focused on was immediately created in the physical reality of the dream. So I created a place where there was a deep sense of peace gazing at a beautiful landscape of mountains and water falls. Again, I feel this is apropos because this chapter represents a time of rest and illumination before the hero returns to face their climatic moment.
C. Play “The Question Game” as described in the opening of this
chapter. Remember the guidelines of what an effective question should
be. Make them relevant to your intentions and allow them to lead you to a
course of action which will allow you to complete your Quest.

The Workout
Focus on DAY OFF
1. Exercise 1: n/a
______ Sets of _________ Reps
Identify Intention: Ask a general question to clarify where I want to be when addressing my four intentions.
Question (# 1 ): What are the questions I wish to explore? What are the relevant questions as pertains the this Quest?
After Set 1: Answer your own question and form a new question.
(a) Are my four intentions still relevant today? Am I ready to let them go?
Question (# 2 ): The answer to 1a is also the next Question.
After Set 2: Answer your own question and form a new question.
(b) In a way, yes, I am ready to let them go. My confidence has increased
dramatically once seeing my results, even here at DAY 21. I think I’ve
accomplished more confidence even though this intention is not a tangible, measurable
goal.
Question (# 3): Has this new found confidence helped you meet your other three intentions?
After Set 3: Answer your own question and form a new question.
(c) Yes. I’m experiencing more of a constant, consistent joy. I interpret this to be the original intention of becoming a “different person” in thirty days. So two of those intentions have been accomplished.
2. Exercise 2: n/a
______ Sets of _________ Reps
Identify Intention: Ask general questions before addressing my original four intentions.
Question (# 4): Has this joy spilled into improving the spiritual life?
After Set 1: Answer your own question and form a new question.
(a) I believe so. In fact, I believe the joy is because of my spiritual life. My patience and emotional stability has made my meditation sessions even more powerful. I’m able to make time and appreciate these moments even more.
Question (# 5 ): How is the improvement in your spiritual relationship helping you recognize an increase in intelligence? How is this helping you develop the content of this book?
After Set 2: Answer your own question and form a new question.
(b) I can now observe and respond to my emotions rather than react impulsively to them. This has been a benefit from my practice and training. I recognize there is a higher emotional content in my words. In fact, I believe that these words are inspired by spirit and have the power to heal. This book, first and foremost, is reconnecting to Source in spite of what the ego would have One believe.
Question (# 6 ): So again - are these four intentions still relevant?
After Set 3: Answer your own question and form a new question.
(c) Yes, they are relevant. I recognize that I’ve accomplished these things and am ready to start a new Quest at this one’s conclusion. I wish to embark on something more measurable and specific. But the intentions are relevant for the purpose of completion and re-reading the story that it took to get here.
3. Exercise 3: n/a
______ Sets of _________ Reps
Identify Intention: Recapping all my intentions to see if they are all still relevant in the sense that they are powerful enough to move me forward toward an action step.
Question (# 1): What was measurable about this Quest?
After Set 1: Answer your own question and form a new question.
(a) Obviously the frequency and intensity of my workouts. The loss of body fat (2-3% body fat lost) but also maintenance of weight. My choices in diet on a day-to-day basis. These were all definitely measurable outcomes to these thirty days.
Question (# 2): Are you ready to move onto a new Quest? What might this new Quest be?
After Set 2: Answer your own question and form a new question.
(b) Only after I finish these thirty days. My new Quest of a more specific goal will be right for me. Twenty-one days ago I think I specifically didn’t want to create a measurable goal. I simply wanted to work out, use these techniques, and record my feelings. This was the only way to keep my sanity - to be completely disengaged from expecting a desired outcome. My next Quest will be to write a second, clearer version of this book.
(Changing Intentions with Questions.)
Question (# 1): What must I do for a climatic action to represent the successful completion of each intention? (Focus on all 4 intentions.)
After Set 3: Answer your own question and form a new question.
(c) To express my increased confidence I will express my sincerest gratitude to five people in my life. This will hopefully become a habit that increases my confidence even more.
4. Exercise 4: n/a
______ Sets of _________ Reps
Identify Intention: Creating action steps for the successful completion of all 4 intentions.
Question (# 2 ): How will expressing gratitude to five people help with another intention beyond just the increased confidence?
After Set 1: Answer your own question and form a new question.
(a) It facilitates the belief that I am a new person. I choose to look outside of myself and give to someone else rather than isolate my self from the world.
Question (# 3): What additional action does this inspire you to do in becoming a new person?
After Set 2: Answer your own question and form a new question.
(b) Pause and take one hour to meditate on the true message I wish to express through this book. I haven’t rewarded myself with enough space to facilitate inspiration. I haven’t yet found the true message of this book that inspires me to no end. There's a major theme, or possibly thesis, I have yet to discover regarding this book
Question (# 4 ): What action does this inspire you to take for on of your other intentions?
After Set 3: Answer your own question and form a new question.
(c) To completely let go of all desire for three days save for the desire to be happy. This will help my spiritual life in that it allows this desire for simple happiness to build more. Plus, my Course in Miracles work encourages me to let go of desires of the material world and be vigilant for gifts from the spiritual world.
5. Exercise 5: n/a
______ Sets of _________ Reps
Identify Intention: Creating Action Steps to Complete All 4 Intentions.
Question (# 5 ): How does this enable you to understand that you’ve become more intelligent? In what ways will this serve the content of your book?
After Set 1: Answer your own question and form a new question.
(a) I recognize that my "brilliance" needs space and relaxation which will allow my natural creativity to flow. My best work, my most powerful insights, are still inside of me. I need this form of questioning that this Question Game provides for the next four days to bring that out of me.
Question (# 6 ): What will you do to demonstrate that you’ve accomplished this?
After Set 2: Answer your own question and form a new question.
(b) After the one hour of mediation, I will set aside an additional hour to write the first page of an introduction to this book. I feel this is how the best work will come out of me and can start writing my book. I’ve already started this journal which I can include as supplemental material on how this book and program actually does work in a ‘real life’ situation.
Question (# 7 ): Does all this provide completion for today? If not, what is still left in your heart?
After Set 3: Answer your own question and form a new question.
(c) Yes, I feel that I’ve pulled the intangible into the tangible. This is the logical next step.
6. Exercise 6: n/a
______ Sets of _________ Reps
Identify Intention: Reaffirm My Plan of Action
Question (# 1 ): What are your plans of action generated from this Question session?
After Set 1: Answer your own question and form a new question.
(a) 1. Abstain from desire for all things except for spiritual connection/happiness for 3 days starting today.
2. Communicate my humble appreciation to 5 people.
3. Set aside no less than one hour to meditate on the true message of this book.
4. Set aside an addition hour to write the first page of this book’s introduction.
Question (# 2 ): When do you intend on completing these action plans?
After Set 2: Answer your own question and form a new question.
(b) I intend to have these tasks completed in seven days which coincides with the end of Part 8:
"Climax" of this Quest.
Question (# 3 ): How do you know beyond a shadow of a doubt you will complete these tasks in the time period selected for yourself?
After Set 3: Answer your own question and form a new question.
(c) Because I know in my heart of hearts that it’s already been done. My physical experience (of not having this book written) and my mental/emotional experience (of having this book written) have temporarily been split. Asking the question allows for these two realities to merge and become one. This book has already been written, my ego has simply separated my perception that I’m already the author of this book. By asking the question, “How do I know I will accomplish these things?”, is to send the signal that I’m ready to bring my new reality into experience. It’s already done.
